Professor Christopher Rutland has been at the University of Wisconsin – Madison since 1989. He is a Professor in Mechanical Engineering and currently the Director of the Engine Research Center (www.erc.wisc.edu). He is a Fellow of the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). Professor Rutland’s research interests include fundamental simulations of turbulent reacting flows and spray combustion, development and application of large eddy simulation (LES) for complex combustion systems, RANS modeling of internal combustion engines, and system simulations of diesel engines, emissions and after-treatment devices.
