SciDAC 2007 Tutorials Workshop

The Scientific Discovery through Advanced Computing Program (SciDAC) operated by the Department of Energy Office of Science is playing a pioneering role in exploiting the emerging capabilities of petascale computing for fundamental advances in astrophysics, nuclear physics, particle physics, climate research, groundwater migration, fusion energy, life sciences, materials, and chemistry.  Since its inception in 2001, collaborative SciDAC research  teams of physical scientists, mathematicians, computer scientists, and computational scientists have developed a wealth of software and computational tools for scientific Petascale computing. As a complement to the SciDAC 2007 Conference June 24-28, the SciDAC Tutorials Workshop June 29 at MIT will provide hands-on tutorials to facilitate the dissemination and utilization of key SciDAC software and computational tools.

The SciDAC Tutorials Workshop is open to all physical scientists, mathematicians, computer scientists, and computational scientists, and we anticipate participation both by attendees of SciDAC 2007 and local students, postdocs, and researchers.  There is no workshop fee, but registration in advance is required, and in the event of oversubscription, space in the tutorials will be allocated according to the order of registration.  Participants should bring their own laptops for wireless access the tutorial software.   Limited financial support for travel is available, as described on the registration page.
